testing for kidney disease
Kidneys are essential organs to the health and well-being of our bodies. They work to filter out waste products, secrete hormones and regulate blood chemicals. We have more than enough kidneys to keep our bodies healthy, which means that we can have early signs of kidney disease without symptoms. For this reason the National Kidney Foundation recommends that we undergo 3 simple tests to screen for kidney disease each year.
These tests are simple and can be performed at the doctors office. The first is a blood pressure measurement. When there is kidney damage it can often affect the regulation of blood pressure, and visa versa. When there is a problem with high blood pressure it can affect the health of the kidneys.

No high blood pressure can be considered safe. Even if your blood pressure is only nominally above normal levels you are at an increased risk of stroke, organ damage and heart attack. The longer it stays high and the higher it gets, the greater the health risk.
